Comune di Brisighella
Brisighella is mysterious on winter days and even more fascinating on summer evenings, when it returns to the ancient light of torches and comes alive with outdoor shows, exhibitions, concerts, banquets and markets.
Brisighella, an old medieval village and spa, this jewel of the verdant valley of the Lamone River, can easily be reached also thanks to picturesque railway journeys that leave Faenza for Florence. A hospitable town, rich in tradition, flavours, architectural and natural beauty, brimming with the most prestigious recognitions – Borghi più Belli d’Italia, Cittaslow, Bandiera Arancione del Touring Club Italiano – that certify its excellencies and quality of life. Its unmistakable profile is dominated by three rocky pinnacles. The Torre dell’Orologio (clock tower) with its 19th-century shape but medieval foundation, dominates the higher ground. The impressive and majestic Rocca Manfrediana dates back to the XIV century and stands on the second hillock, even today featuring the characteristics of medieval fortresses. Finally, on the third hill stands the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Monticino, dating back to the XVIII century. At the base of the Torre dell’Orologio stands the village, that winds along a maze of ancient alleyways, stretches of city wall and stairways sculpted in the chalk. For those who love trekking or mountain biking, there is the natural beauty of the Regional Park of the Vena del Gesso Romagnola. For lovers of fine foods and wines, there is plenty of choice: the wonderful Brisighello oil, the exquisite cold meats of Mora romagnola (a local breed of pig with a dark skin), and the typical wines of Romagna, including Sangiovese DOC and Albana DOCG. Typical products that are promoted by numerous excellent restaurants and agritourisms on the territory and can be acquired at private retail outlets or in the shop adjacent to the tourist information office.

The hot springs station of Brisighella, known since the 1800s, is the ideal place to restore health, elasticity, and temper both mind and body. Open from May to October, thanks to the sulphurous and sodiobromidiodic waters, they help remedy respiratory problems and are good for thermal therapies: mud, baths, inhalations. The environment that surrounds the spa facility, situated near the historic district, is also ideal for walks and jogging.

The patrimony consisting of olive trees, many of which are over a century old, and by the precious liquid extracted from the drupe, has solicited sector businessmen to develop the entire production cycle, from the care of the plants to the sale of packaged products. To this view, the Museum of the Oil of Brisighella was instituted, an itinerary almost entirely outdoors, that winds along the hilly roads, within the area of the olives typical of Brisighella, the “Nostrana di Brisighella” and the “Ghiaggiola”, the autochthonous varieties of the Lamone valley.
