Fish & Mussels

The Adriatic Sea is the habitat of many species of fish used in the kitchen for the preparation of delicious recipes.

The Mussel of Marina di Ravenna,

to which a festival is dedicated at the beginning of summer, is a wild mussel that grows on the high seas and is harvested by hand. Other mollusks present in the Adriatic Sea are clams, snails, cuttlefish, squid, octopus, scallops and squids.

The most typical fish of Romagna is then

the blue fish

(sardines, herring, anchovies, sardine, mackerel mullet, mantis shrimp, swordfish and tuna),

rich in Omega 3. Very typical is the “Rustida”, a delicious grill where the fish is covered with crispy breadcrumbs, oil and parsley.

Among the Romagna recipes of the sea gourmets also love the “Brodetto” of Romagna, the Romagna style cuttlefish and the turbot of the Adriatic.
