Honeys, sweet staff & liquors

Sweets, honeys, spirits:

the basket of typical products of Romagna is really rich.

In the countryside, bees have always contributed, with their work of pollination of flowers, to environmental protection and the agricultural economy. They offer precious honeys rich in aromas and flavors that are a direct expression of our territory. The honeys of the Apennine ridge (acacia, all the lowers, chestnut, honeydew). Traditional of the plain is the alfalfa and lime honey both recognized as traditional products of Emilia-Romagna.

Among the typical sweets of Romagna, the most classic is the

Ciambella

very simple but delicious recipe to match with a glass of sweet or raisin wine.

In area of Ravenna, particularly in Bagnacavallo, there is the

Dolce di San Michele,

prepared during the week of the patron saint’s day.

Moving to Fusignano there are delicious handmade biscuits created to pay homage to the famous fellow Arcangelo Corelli:

“Corelli” and “Corelli’s Violins”

The choice of the shape recalls respectively the coat of arms of Family Corelli and the violin, the favorite instrument of the famous composer.

Finally, among the typical Romagna distillates, we should mention: Luigino, a liqueur made with an indigenous herb, “Prugnolino della Salina”, with wild blackthorn collected in the salt of Cervia, and “Feuilles de Cerises”, a wine flavored with cherry leaves, from an ancient French recipe.
